Mazda revs up events with a pair of branded VirtualGT racing simulators
Authentic head-to-head racing energizes Mazda racers and fans. A pair of mobile VirtualGT simulators test Mazda fans’ skill on the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca track.
Inspired thinking from Just Marketing Inc.
May 9, 2013. Monterey, CA. These custom commercial racing simulators, produced for Just Marketing Inc., were conceived by them to be the focal point of Mazda’s new mobile event marketing display. The custom branded mobile VirtualGT racing simulators attracted lots of attention as hundreds of fans from around the track lined up to take a few laps around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Mazda Miata roadsters or Star Mazda open wheel race cars, faithfully simulated by iRacing’s professional racing simulation software.
iRacing software and VirtualGT
iRacing’s software is as good as it gets with its laser scanned tracks and accurate physics and tire models. Played back on the VGT with its unique custom high-fidelity sound and vibration system, visitors had a chance to experience what it’s like to drive real Mazda race cars on the track. In fact, several of the actual drivers from the various events stopped by to check out the VGTs and were able to verify the authenticity of the hardware and software, including Kenton Koch, winner of one of the Miata MX-5 heats on Friday. Ken has actually trained on the ultra high performance VGT Pro Carbon simulator at the new VirtualGT Training Center.
These special commercial VGTs were custom designed to showcase Mazda’s commitment to racing and to their fans. These custom VGTs are equipped with special high-quality commercial 46″ LCD displays for viewing in daylight. Each simulator was finished in Mazda blue and branded with the Mazda logo. They make a visceral emotional connection between the Mazda brand and race fans.
Virtual-E Corporation has provided special VGTs for commercial use since 2005 to companies like AAA Insurance, Best Buy, CompUSA, Carhart, Dickies, Patron and many others.
